My memories of Sophie.
1991 - 1992

I first worked with Sophie in Chicago in Manchester and we met up again at the Palace Theatre, London in Les Mis in the early 90's. I didn't know her very well but I was struck by her sensitivity, her talent and her overall niceness. (In my experience those qualities don't always go hand-in-hand) but Sophie had a good heart, a cheeky humour (wacky even)and an abundance of talent. I think her sensitivity made her a special person and a special actress. She was lovely to my special needs daughter, Lydia, whenever they met - showing her caring side. After her death, when one day Lydia asked me how Sophie was I told her Sophie was no longer here and had gone to Heaven. Lydia said,'That means she's an Angel now, doesn't it.But she always was to me. And she was. RIP Sophie, Lydia and I often talk about you.
